The National Post has written up an article on what people are now calling firenadoes that have been sighted throughout the NWT. You can read it here.
What is also within the article is a Wildfire Infographic showing all the forest fires burning in North America. Yellowknife and the Northwest Territories claiming our spot right at the top, the reddest part.
The infographic goes into detail regarding forest fire activity in each area this year in comparison with the average.
It also shows how the water bomb planes capture and release water as well as what causes forest fires to grow and travel at excessive rates.
