If you drove from the Fire Hall towards the Winks gas station over the weekend you would have noticed the construction happening. City of Yellowknife crews repaved the 2 lane road with new “flatter” asphalt in hopes to get rid of some of the heave in the road.
Asphalt was laid over the old heaved and patched asphalt. Crews first went over the road and leveled it as best as possible and then finished with a thick layer of fresh asphalt. Hopefully this improves this part of the road for at least a couple years.
