Animated Yellowknife Airport

I thought this was a neat find this morning. As I was watching some old YkOnline videos I noticed this one in the related section. It appears to be an animated tour of the Yellowknife Airport. Starting on the tarmac and ending in the parking lot. At first I thought this may have something to do with Buffalo Airway’s reality TV show, Ice Pilots NWT, but as they only briefly showed Buffalo’s hanger I was lead to believe it was not. I am very impressed with the detail of the video and how correct it has in the placement of all the building and structures. It was only posted on the 22 of December so it might be as recent as this past fall. If anyone watches it works at the airport, I loved to know how precise they are with the placement of things in the video. Or if anyone know of why this video was made, leave a comment below.

  • Looks pretty accurate to me. I think the space between the First Air hangar and the Buffalo hangar is a bit too far though. I’m impressed with the level of detail put into this.

  • Definitely created for flight simulator, but must be relatively new. The tent structure next to First air hanger is relatively new (last winter I believe). They did pretty good until the Tindi Hanger. G&G Expediting should be on it, not Tindi (old Ptarmigan Air hanger). Neat find and interesting video, but let’s face it, the parking lot is a much bigger disaster than what was portrayed here.
