Students bring Broadway to Yellowknife

From Fame to Jersey Boy, Mamma Mia to Les Mis, Wicked to Hairspray, this years Sir John Franklin High School production – Broadway Nights – brings us all the stage classics with some laughs, song and, definitely, dance.

I imagine it would be tough enough to memorize one complete show, never mind trying to prefect different acts from different shows, all together. I commend the students on their work on the show this year, I enjoyed it.

While I have no musical talent of my own to really base feedback on, I thought the show was very well put together on all aspects of singing, dancing and performing in general.

To not only perform in a production but to really let ones personality shine is difficult, I know this first hand. There was definitely personality in this production and the audience was well entertained from start to finish.

Many foots were taping as the popular songs were preformed and giggles throughout the audience as a classy one liner was belted out by a main characters.

If you are looking for an entertaining show and wish to support local theatre, this is for you.

The show continues to run between now and Saturday, April 13, 2013, also with a Saturday matinée I don’t have listed. Next week, Beauty and the Beast.
