Well it is the first day of spring, or so I think. Walking through downtown this morning did have a sense of spring to it. It’s getting lighter out and the wind wasn’t its normal nippy self. There is hope.
We are looking back on all the Instagram photos taken around Yellowknife this past week and something I always find intriguing about Instagram photos of Yellowknife is there always seems to be shots from hotel rooms over looking the city. I find them neat because it is a perspective I don’t often see.
Now if you were bored this past weekend obviously you didn’t leave your house, because of all the winter weekends there are, this past one had the most happening. The Long John Jamboree, Dog Sled Race, Snow Castle, Big Burning Thing and St. Patrick’s Day. There was a little for everyone. One of the amusing things I saw this weekend was during the Big Burning Thing, when all sorts of vehicles were everyone on Yellowknife Bay. All over a sudden the limo drove through the snow to get what I presume was a good parking spot. It was pretty impressive.
Here is what you got up to this week in Yellowknife as told by Instagram.
