Yellowknife Instagram: June 18

Another weekend passed here in Yellowknife and again here are some of the awesome photos everyone is taking while enjoying the summer weather. This week’s theme is water.

On Saturday most of the sailboats were finally able to dip into the waters of Great Slave Lake for the season. On Sunday, I went out on the big lake for a fishing adventure. We left the government dock just as the heavy fog started to roll in. As we were head out we lost sight of Detah and Yellowknife. It was a very different perspective  and if one isn’t prepared for it, could scare you right out of your skivvies.

That was only briefly though, being on the water is beautiful, no matter what lake. The NWT is really fortunate to have so many lakes that can be accessed. Now who wants to go fishing?
