Yellowknife Instagram: Feb 17, 2014

I was out snowmobiling and ice fishing over the weekend and I was loving every minute of it. I’m sure I share the feeling with many, but right now I’m feeling like we have broke through a long cold stretch and can now enjoy winter the way it was meant to be.

Maybe enjoying winter just means walking around town looking at some of the sights we might pass by everyday, but miss.

Or exploring the wide open spaces on Yellowknife Bay.

Or if you are dedicated and caffeinated, maybe you’ll take a trip up the Ingraham Trail or across the Dettah Ice Road to view the spectacular aurora.

Or you just can’t wait for the Snow Castle to open on March 1 and need to check out the construction ahead of time.

Or maybe getting on a dogsled and taking a tour through forests and across ice.

Whatever it is that you get up to during these ridiculously sunny – and warm – days of winter, have fun.

See you on the ice.
