Welcome to Yellowknife
Yellowknife is the capital of the Northwest Territories (NWT), Canada. It is located on the north shore of Great Slave Lake, approximately 400 km south of the Arctic Circle, on the west side of Yellowknife Bay near the mouth of the Yellowknife River. Yellowknife and its surrounding water bodies were named after the local Yellowknives Dene First Nation, who made tools from regional copper deposits.
Yellowknife, many would say, is a small city with a big city feel. Yellowknife offers many of the same amenities you would find in a city like Edmonton or Vancouver but on a smaller scale. As isolated as it may be, Yellowknife, now have four major airlines flying south to Edmonton, Ab daily.
