The Star’s Top 5 Things to do in Yellowknife

Our friends from the center of the universe, I mean Toronto, have done up a nice little post on some of the top 5 things to do when visiting Yellowknife.

Ruth Bowen, a Toronto Star freelance writer, wrote about Yellowknife as she experienced it and categorized her article by her top five things. Those categories include five things for free, five ways to see the aurora, five other things to do, five places to shop and five places to eat.

I think Ms. Bowen did a fine job at capturing some of the best in Yellowknife. Below is an example of one of the categories and all of them can be found here.

FIVE THINGS FOR FREE

Northern Frontier Visitors Centre: Starting point for self-guided walks and info on upcoming events as well as displays on diamond mining and the area’s flora…

Buffalo Airways: Meet the heroes from reality TV’s Ice Pilots and sit in the cockpit of an iconic DC3…

Heritage Walking Tour of Old Town: Pick up your guidebook from the visitors centre and spend a couple of hours rambling through the history of the city’s development…

Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre: Comprehensive yet compact museum includes dioramas on the relationships between people with the landscapes and animals of the North…

Artswalk: Leaflet from the visitors centre guides you around a diverse range of studios…

Now tell me Yellowknife, what are your top five in Yellowknife?
