Royal Visit plans in Yellowknife

This morning the itinerary for the Royal Visit of Prince William and wife Catherine was unveiled. I think general Yellowknife is pretty excited and proud that the Royal couple will be coming through our city.

It is certainly a mystery to many other Canadians about why they will be coming to Yellowknife, as many don’t know the beauty that Yellowknife and NWT holds.

The couple will be in Yellowknife from July 4 – 6, 2011. Not all the details of their time in Yellowknife were unveiled, but from many other news source it sounds like the couple will get to meet a lot of Youth. First they will be attended a session of the Youth Parliament before heading off to the Blachford Lake Lodge by float plane (shocker, I know). While at the lodge with will get to meet some of the Canadian Rangers, along with other students and elders.

There is no doubt that the city will be a buzz while the couple passes though. If you happen to see or even get to meet the Royal couple, send us in your thoughts. Also send in any photos you may get experiencing Yellowknife. Everything can be sent to

Here is the official itinerary for the Royal Tour.
