New Fire and Rescue Training Facility in Yellowknife

In a joint effort between the Diamond Mines, the Airport Fire Department and the City of Yellowknife Fire Department a new training facility has been opened.

According to Mayor Van Tighem – as said in the video below – the new training facility will help save travel expenses as local crews wont have to go far and will also allow for crews from around the region to come and train.

Both BHP Billiton and Diavik Diamond Mine express their interest in the new train facility as a benefit to the safety and well being of everyone, at camp and in the communities around the north.
