Merv Hardie may open late this year

Due to low water level in Great Slave Lake and the MacKenzie River, we may be looking at a late year for the ferry to go back in.

According to the GNWT, the past 30 days have shown water level fluctuating between 149.5 and 150.5 meters above sea level. In order for the Ferry to run the water levels need to be consistently over 150 meters. Last year at this we saw levels betweekn 150.55 and 150.68.

What does this mean for us as residents? Well, not much. Having this levels monitors is a benefit to use so that we know when there is a possibility is a delay or no service period.
