How Yellowknife gets ready for Ice Carving

Fort St. John’s High On Ice, Ice Carving festival has nothing on Yellowknife! While they have to get their ice shipped to town for the festival, Yellowknife just has to drive out of the Ice Road that just so happens to be right beside town, pull out are rather large chainsaws and pull out a block of ice.

Ice Carving events happened at the first annual Long John Jamboree on March 23-25, 2012 and this video below shows how they are pulling out the ice.
