How to follow Arctic Winter Games 2012

The date is coming near, March 4-10, 2012. The 2012 Arctic Winter Games in Whitehorse will soon be here and Team NWT will heading over to compete for gold. Now even though not all of us came make it to the Yukon, there will still be many ways to follow Team NWT on their journey.

I asked the media of Yellowknife and the NWT how they would be covering the Arctic Winter Games and below is what I have figured out. Please note that I will be adding sources as I find them. If you know of any sources, weather official media or Twitter, please leave a comment on this post and I will add it in.

Websites

Northern News Service: NNSL will be sending 3 people to Whitehorse to cover the AWG. They will be putting up a micro-website where they will post frequent coverage updates on the games. No website address has been provided yet.

CBC North: CBC North has set up a special feature page on their website where they will posting their Arctic Winter Games Coverage and will also be sending reporters from across the north to Whitehorse. CBC’s 2012 Arctic Winter Games coverage can be found here.

CJCD News: CJCD will most likely also be posting updates online, but has not confirmed that. Coverage will most likely be found here.

Radio/Television

CJCD News: CJCD will most likely have special Arctic Winter Games reports and will most likely have someone on location in Whitehorse. Listen on here.

CBC Radio: CBC will have reports on it radio newscasts and on its Television newscasts. Listen/Watch here.

Newspaper

Northern News Service: NNSL will be sending 3 people to Whitehorse to cover the AWG. They will be have coverage in all seven newspaper and after the games will have 3 special features for the NWT, Nunavut and Hay River.

Online

Official Arctic Winter Games Twitter Account. This will have updates about the games overall. @AWG2012
