Help Fire Victims Today!

Losing your house, your home, your belongings, is a tragic thing and we don’t want that to every happen to anyone. Unfortunately it does happen and happened to a family last Monday. They lost their home and everything within it.

Since this family lost their home, a Facebook Group has been setup to support them. It has been setup by family members back in Ontario and they have tried to reach as many people as possible. I urge you to join and see how you can help.

As of Thursday morning, enough furniture, kids clothing and toys were donated. Other household items are still needed. Also if you don’t have any items to give, another good option is gift cards from Canadian Tire, Walmart, Sears, etc. It is unclear where physical items can be donated, please ask on the group wall. As for small items, like gift cards they can be mailed to: PO Box 1032, Yellowknife, NT, X1A 2N7

This Saturday, May 29, Arli Terry has organized a multi-family garage sale, with all the proceeds going to the family. The Garage Sale will be all morning and will be at 118 Magrum Crescent. If you’d like to donate anything you have to the sale call her at 445-7827. She may also have detail on donating items directly for the family.

A Fundraiser Concert is also the works, which will most likely be hosted by Mel and The Break Up. When all the details are worked out, we will announce it here.

From what I gather from the Facebook Group, everyone involved is overwhelmed with all the support everyone is showing in such a short time.
