UPDATE 2: I just published an interview with Samantha, the creator of the video and you can read that by clicking here.
UPDATE: For whatever reason the video has gone completely nuts and is certifiably viral. Since yesterday when it only had 60,000 views, it is now up to 490,000. Half a million views of a locally made YouTube video. Earlier today it was featured on the popular tech blog Gizmodo.
On January 1, 2010, Samantha Stuart posted a video on YouTube of herself throwing boiled water into the cold, frigid, Yellowknife air. When she does so the water instantly evaporates.
The video which has been online for a little over a year, today went viral on Twitter, with a large amount of people tweeting about it. It has now surpassed the 60,000 view mark of YouTube. This just goes to show that Yellowknife and the north has something interesting to offer.
I do this every New Years. My nerdy little tradition. Only has to be around -30 for it to work.
Awesome, I went and tried it in -25 and it sort of worked, but most just landed on the ground.
That’s soo kewl!!
This is the COOLEST!! You ROCK girl..the best science project ever!! <3
