This week I have had the pleasure to attend the Northwest Territories Tourism Conference and AGM. It has been really informative and good to speak with those who are showcasing and promoting the territory we all live and play in.
One part of the Conference was a demonstration of Dene Drumming. They started with a prayer song but also preformed a song that some had to dance too.
I get to experience the drumming often enough but no matter how many times I still get this overwhelming happiness about it. The song, drumming and spirit that goes into it gives me goosebumps and I’m always proud that they are sharing their culture with us.
