Earlier today I received a message informing me that the Dettah Ice Road was now open to the public. As I had to venture downtown anyways I thought I would take a drive out on to the ice and film it. I was certainly not the only one out there, word definitely travels quickly within town.

I got word earlier this morning that the Dettah Ice Road was being constructed so I thought I would take a drive down after work and take a look. They had in fact started and where nearly done plowing. There was a crew working at the entrance of the ice road to ensure residents stayed off until complete. The Dettah Ice road is used to connect residents of Dettah and Yellowknife.
