Free community BBQ in celebration of Yellowknife’s 75th Anniversary. A family event open to everyone. Brought to you by your Yellowknife Members of the Legislative Assembly and Western Arctic Member of Parliament, Dennis Bevington.
Kids Crafts & Reading Circle
Where & When: 1-3 pm, Tent Behind City Hall
Come out and make a birthday card to decorate our stage! Pre-school kids are encouraged to have some fun and commemorate Yellowknife’s 75 Anniversary by making a card for the city. After the MLA/MP community bbq, make a card and read a story with a friend. Danna & Ryan of The Peek-a-Boo Kazu will perform children’s music for everyone’s entertainment! An afternoon of fun designed for younger kids. Bring your friends from day care! Thanks to NWT Council of Persons with Disabilities and NWT Literacy for organizing this event and to Omega Marine for sponsoring it!
A Night at Tommy Forrest Ball Park
Where & When: Franklin Ave, 5:30 to 9:30 pm followed by a social at YK Curling Club
Come out & enjoy some of our young aspiring fastball hopefuls anytime from 5:30pm – 8:00pm! 8:00pm continue to enjoy some of the local & returning senior men’s & ladies players & those coming out of semi retirement! For those seniors who want to throw around a ball & feel like yesteryear was only yesterday there may be opportunity so dig out your gloves & stretch those legs! Lets light up Tommy Forrest like the old days & “LETS PLAY BALL!” After the game, we can head over the YK Curling Club for a social get together. Bring your photos, uniforms and let share a great time over old stories.

Arctic Beasts – Through the Eyes of an Inuk

Koomuatuk “Kuzy” Curley, Cape Dorset artist’s debut solo show is open to the public. Refreshments will be served. Carvings will be for sale, cash or cheques accepted. Meet the artist creating these incredible works.
