Who We Are

How to be a Yellowknifer is an initiative put together by two passionate Yellowknifers who are dedicated to helping new and potential residents make a seamless transition into Yellowknife.

rosie-portraitsRosanna Strong

Rosanna has over 25 years of experience living in the North and is proud to call Yellowknife her home.  She operates Strong Interpretation, a local tour company, which provides guided experiences winter or summer to guests from across the world.  An avid outdoors person, active member on local boards, basket maker and a regular in the community theatre scene, Rosanna is keen to share her experiences with newcomers to Yellowknife. Her goal is to provide a warm northern welcome, like she received on her arrival to town in 1990.

kyle-portraitsKyle Thomas

Kyle grew up in Yellowknife and is a local entrepreneur, bread maker, and Yellowknife-ophile who is addicted to learning as much as he can about the community and sharing it with anyone who'll listen. In 2009 he developed YkOnline.ca. A website all about living, working and thriving in Yellowknife for residents, newcomers, and visitors.

Partnership

How to be a Yellowknifer is a partnership between two locally grown companies.
