Everyday we seem to be hearing something new unfolding from Japan. It is scary and life shattering. Below is a message that was passed on to me about how we as a community can help those in need in Japan.

Yellowknife has a strong connection to the country of Japan from our sister city, to the Japanese who call Yellowknife home, to the many guests that come here to see our spectacular aurora. It is hard to standby and watch the events unfold in this country. To show your support for the victims of the recent tsunami and earthquake, please join us for an afternoon of Japanese culture and food on Sunday, March 20th.
Where: Sushi North (on Franklin Avenue)
When : 12 p.m. – 3 p.m.
All funds collected during this event will be sent to the Red Cross Relief Agency. If you cannot make the event on Sunday, a donation box has been set up at Many places in town and 5% of any sales at sushi north are being collected to help the people of Japan.
