What does Telus coming to Yellowknife mean to you?

I remember when Bell announced it would be bringing 3G service to Yellowknife and how excited I was because that meant I would be able to get an iPhone.

Yellowknife has only ever had one major telecommunications provider in Yellowknife, Bell. Although throughout the years there have been rumours. Many rumours. More some about the possibility of Rogers coming to Yellowknife than Telus.

Telus has always been somewhat available to Yellowknifers, or at least those from the south with Telus service. My understanding is that Bell and Telus have always piggybacked off each other, so their service would work up here.

After seeing a news release last week that Telus was announcing LTE service is Yellowknife along with other major cities in Canada, I though this was just their shared towers with Bell. I was wrong apparently.

HQYellowknife, or CJCD, reported this morning that Telus will in fact be coming to Yellowknife as a full service provider in a few months.

Telus Spokesperson Chris Gerritsen explained the next step,”That’s to bring that full Telus service to Yellowknife residents within the coming months.”

So with this news I’m now wondering, how many will switch to Telus from Bell in hopes for better service. Honestly, my impression of all three major provider is they all suck evenly. Or at least there service is all generally even. I wont be switching, I just don’t see the point.
What about you?

Will you switch to Telus for Cell Service?
