Well it is the last weekend before the big day and there are a couple of events worth mentioning. So lets get this party going.

Singing for Supper with Tom Jackson: The Northern Arts and Cultural Centre and the Yellowknife Food Bank jointly present Singing for Supper with proceeds going to the Yellowknife Food Bank. Singing for Supper is an exciting evening of both traditional and non-traditional Christmas music. The first half features performances by Shannon Gaye and Pear (featuring Denis & Lynae Dufresne). In the second half, host Tom Jackson presents fellow musicians Tom McKillip, Mike Norman, Kristian Alexandrov, Shannon, Denis and Lynae. Singing for Supper will be on both Friday and Saturday evening at 7:00pm. Tickets are $20 each and can be bought online here.

Steve Pretty and Giant Con return to Twist by popular demand for another double bill that’s not to be missed. This time around it’s the weekend before Christmas so we’re calling the show “A Feast of Stephens”. Should be a great event to listen to great music, meet up with friends who are back in town for the holidays, and of course enjoy the great food and drinks at Yellowknife’s most popular new nightspot, Twist! Website: Look up Twist, Giant Con, and Steve Pretty, all on Facebook. Also http://www.giantcon.com and http://www.myspace.com/stevepretty. Friday night at Twist from 8pm – 12am.

Rick and the Relics HOHO Show: No cover charge and it is a revisit from the highlights of our last 5 years of HOHO shows. The shows are on from 9.30 to close both Friday & Saturday night and the whole band will be there with Kelley Merilees-Keppel, Karen Rawson, Norma Giovanetto, Howard McKay, Gary Tees, Glen Brake and Rick Poltaruk. It is a great way to usher in the Christmas week. Friday and Saturday evening at Le Frolic 9:30pm – 2am.
