Free Parking For All

The City of Yellowknife would like to give everyone a present of parking this holiday season. They would also like to extend there warmest wishes to you and your family.

We all know that some of us leave our shopping to the last minute and end up running around like we are crazy. We also know that some of the best places for shopping in Yellowknife are in the downtown care. That is why the City will be offering free parking in the Central Business District (downtown) throughout the holiday season. This mean they will not be enforcing parking meters from December 21, 2009 until January 1, 2010.

Although parking is free, the City would like residents to keep others in mind and not park in spaces for extended periods of time. Also remember that all other parking regulations will still be enforced. Things such as fire lanes, handicap zones and the parking restriction along Franklin Avenue from 3:00 – 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 – 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The City of Yellowknife would like to extend its warmest wishes to you and your family during this holiday season.
