Torch Relay Ceremony

On November 5, 2009, Thursday the 2010 Olympic Torch will be in Yellowknife for part of its 106 day, 45,000km journey across Canada. Selected torchbearers will be carrying the torch through our community and everyone is invited to come out and cheer them on.

Later in the day, 5:30pm, there will be a Community Celebration in the Sombe Ke Civic Plaza, which is right in front of City Hall over looking Frame Lake. The Celebration will feature local entertainment like Giant Con and Hello Paisley. You’ll also get the chance to get your picture taken with the torch, and watch/participate in some games.
