Today, Friday November 13, is CJCD Mix 100′s 30th birthday. To me it only seems like last year they celebrated their 25th. It has been neat to listen to the station over the last week. They have been getting recording of past DJ’s and owners talking about their memories and stories of the station. They have also been sending Yellowknifers on a scavenger hunt for great prizes throughout Yellowknife. Today, on their birthday, they are giving away a trip for 2 anywhere First Air flies.
Listening to the Morning Show today with Paul McMullen really put a smile on my face. It was hilarious, especially when he had previous owner Charles Dent and friend on air talking about when the station first started. To top of the hilarity on the show, during the Birthday Wish, which happens at about 7:50am, two employees phoned in because they were locked outside the building. Needless to say everyone, including Paul, got a kick out of that.
