Because this week is the YK75 Celebration I thought I would help spread the word of the events that are taking place. Each morning check back here after 7am for that days events.
Canadian North and YK In-flight Service Pancake Breakfast

Free pancake breakfast open to the public!
Firefighter Mini-Challenge
Where & When: 1-3 pm Tent behind City Hall
Do your kids want to be firefighter?? Would they like to try on fire gear? How about running through an obstacle course? And every firefighter gets to spray the water hose!! Bring your kids aged 5-12 down to the park for a fun mini-firefighter challenge.
Supervised by Yellowknife’s finest from the City Fire Hall.
Kids Crafts and Reading Table
Where & When: 1-3 pm Tent Behind City Hall
Come out and make a birthday card to decorate our stage! Pre-school kids are encouraged to have some fun and commemorate Yellowknife’s 75 Anniversary by making a card for the city. Check out the mini-firefighter challenge, make a card and read a story with a friend. An afternoon of fun designed for younger kids. Bring your friends from day care!Thanks to NWT Council of Persons with Disabilities and NWT Literacy for organizing this event and to Omega Marine for sponsoring it!
Giant Miner Tour
Where & When: Pick-up at City Hall at 6:30 pm
Join us on a walking tour of the Mining Heritage Display at the entrance to Giant (Old) Townsite. Hop into a van for a guided tour of the Giant property with a stop at “C-Dry” for coffee and reclamation display viewing. After this, return to City Hall for drop off.
