We got lots of events happening around town on Saturday so I thought it would easier if I published this Friday afternoon. Hope to see you out at some.

International Food Festival

Where & When: 11 am to 3 pm Parking Lot beside City Hall

Sample the delights of cuisine from around the world!! Shop at the art market, have lunch at the food festival, enjoy the musical talents of Yellowknife musicians – what a great way to celebrate Yellowknife’s 75th Anniversary!! NWT Rebels Women’s Broomball Team will be selling hamburgers, hotdogs and drinks to fund raise for a trip to Austria to attend the World’s Broomball Tournament in 2010.The best pizza and cotton candy in town from Yellowknife United Athletic Club and Great Slave United Club. Golden Cuisine – sample the delights from the Asian Food Market.Arctic Lands Inc. Sale of Country Foods: arctic char gift packs, chowder, jerky & chips; muskox and other northern delights.Pick your very own hand made pottery bowl and fill it with ice cream – yum, a summer delight from the Guild of Crafts.Centre for Northern Families offers fantastic and delicious Caribou dip and Bannock. Delicious perogies and sausage from the Yellowknife Ukrainian Association.

Midnight Sun Dinner/Dance

Where & When: Meet and Greet @ 6:00 p.m. Multiplex Arena

BBQ Roast Beef Dinner @ 7:00 p.m. with dance to follow.

Live entertainment provided by Rick and the Relics

Cash bar, Silent Auction, Door Prizes, Dress is casual. Complimentary drive home provided by St. Pat’s S.A.D.D. Dance open to everyone 19 years of age or older.

YK Guild of Arts & Crafts – summer Fireweed Sales

Yellowknife Quilt Guild

Where & When: 4919 – 51 Street (across from the Scotia Bldg) 10AM to 5PM

YK Gymnastics Club hosts a Children’s Festival

Where & When: 11 am to 5 pm DND gym in the Multiplex arena

2009 Ability Cup

Where & When: Great Slave Cruising Club Noon to 4:00 pm Ingraham Trail – just before Giant Mine

The 18th Annual Ability Cup is a fundraiser for the NWT Council of Persons with Disabilities. Sailors from the Great Slave Cruising club race to raise the most money and to have the fastest boats. The Rock Indoor Skate Park at the Multiplex
